A Month in Mexico!
Winters in Montana are long and hard. We have snow, cold, and more snow. While I enjoy skiing and snuggling up next to the fire with a knitting project, my husband (Doug) isn't as anamored with our winters.
Last year, we decided to head south for a month. It worked out well - he got a dose of warm weather, and I didn't have to listen to him complain about another gray sky day.
We decided to do a month long road trip, starting and ending in San Diego.
We crossed the border, and headed south in Baja California. We took our time heading south, making sure to stop at San Ignacio Lagoon for a day or two. We went on a Grey Whale tour and actually got to touch a whale!
After a week at a beach home, we continued drove all the way down to Cabo. Feeling like we had seen all of Baja California, we decided to cross the Sea of Cortez on a ferry and check out the mainland.
Once in the main part of Mexico, we took El Chepe (the train) up into Copper Canyon. This canyon is 1 1/2 times as deep and 4 times longer than the Grand Canyon! I don't know why we don't hear more about this beautiful place. It is a must see, for sure. It is absolutely gorgeous.
