Default Mindset... An Abundant World View

We all have underlying beliefs that guide our actions, our decisions, and ultimately influence our results. Sometimes these notions are so unconscience that we never come to realize that they are there. Many of these beliefs need to be changed before we will ever have wealth and abundance in our lives.

What are these beliefs?
How can we identify them?
How can we change them?

I'll start with this one… SCARCITY OR ABUNDANCE?

Are you living in a scarce world or an abundant world? Not sure? Ask yourself:
  • Do you ever feel jealous or as if you have missed out on something if a friend or co-worker "cashes in"?
  • Do you think you have to hide an opportunity or keep it secret so that someone does not steel it from you?
  • Do you ever regret not being in the "right place" at the "right time"?
  • Do you sometimes think it is either "them" or "me"?
  • Do you spend time feeling badly about the things you don't have, or the event you missed?

If you answered yes to some of the questions above, then you might be living in a world of scarcity. The sad thing about a scarce world, is that you will always have to fight for what you have and the number of things that come to you will be minimal.

The good news is that there is another world available to you, if you can change the way you think. It is the world of abundance.

Quote:
Abundance
  1. present in great quantity; more than adequate; oversufficient: an abundant supply of water.
  2. well supplied; abounding: a river abundant in salmon.
  3. richly supplied: an abundant land.
In an abundant world, you know that more opportunities are always just around the corner. You know that the world is richly supplied with money and with opportunity. All you need to do is have the desire, educate yourself and take action. In an abundant world, people are your allies and your friends. You know that there is enough for them and for you too. You don't have to withhold information or knowledge or opportunity from others. You don't have to hoard and you don’t to watch out for "numero uno."

Sound like a good world to you? Wondering how to get there?
  • The first step is to become aware of your thought pattern. Start to identify your thoughts… Each day, ask yourself, 'Is that thought a scarcity thought or an abundant thought?"
  • Then, make a commitment every day to spend timein gratitude. Keep a notebook by your bed or in your office. Write down a few things each day that you are grateful for. Enjoy and appreciate all that you have. As you focus on this (rather than on the what you think lacks in your life), the good stuff will grow.
  • As you practice gratitude, you may notice that your thought patterns change. You may notice that your attitude toward opportunity, other people, and money begins to change.

Anyone else have other ideas? How do you create an abundant world view?

Its all about your state of mind. The type of mindset you have greatly effects what will happen in your life. If you put out negative vibes people will pick up on that and there will be a scarcer chance of opportunity knocking on your door. I'd also like to bring up the notion of entitlement; some people honestly believe that they deserve to be successful without any valued effort put forth. I find this to be ridiculous and is the reason for some real mindless behaviour that occurs in our society. I'm talking mainly of the next generation of kids who come from privileged homes and aren't given proper instruction on responsibility and discipline.

Lets hope that the world doesn't suffer too much because of the failed efforts of parents whose sole responsibility when having a child should be to make this little person better than they are. Its about progression not regression. If we teach our kids to see the world as an oyster and to make their own goals and that hard work and discipline lead to a successful life we will have done our jobs as parents.
